This year, Disneyland Resort Paris offers more Halloween
treats than ever before, with several different special evening parties for
kids of all ages.
As usual, Frontierland is decked out for Halloween thanks to
those mischievous pumpkin men and their orange paintbrushes. You can even buy your Halloween costume in
one of the stores and get your face painted. And, as in years past, there's a bewitching Halloween stage with
special spooky performances.My kids'
favorite part of a day at Disney during the Halloween celebrations is the
smashing of the pumpkin piñata (though I suspect it's the candy inside the piñata that they actually like).
Mickey's
Not-so-Scary Party
This year,
Disneyland has introduced a special evening party designed for children (and
overgrown children like me) that lets you celebrate the scariest holiday of the
year in one of the nicest places on earth - Fantasyland. It's Mickey's Not-So-Scary Party and it's a
perfect family party.(It's called Pas-Si-Trouille in French.Get it?Citrouille . . . never mind.)The party is held in Fantasyland after the
parks close and they've limited the number of tickets available so you get a
very intimate experience.Ride all
those Fantasyland rides like Dumbo and Peter Pan without the lines (we went
earlier this month and did seven rides!).There are special shows, light effects, roaming musicians, flame
throwers, and a magician. To top it
off, you get to meet Mickey and Minnie and even your favorite princess.
You can go to
Mickey's Not-so-Scary Party on Friday, October 24 or Tuesday, October 28.It costs 25 euros a person (kids under 3 are
free) and starts at 8 pm.You can,
however, get into the park at 5 p.m. with your party ticket, which means you
get three extra hours of the park and can do rides in other lands before the
Halloween party.
For grown-ups
looking for a scarier experience, Mickey will be hosting his annual Halloween
evening party in the Disneyland Park and a new evening party in Walt Disney
Studios.
Terrorific Night
This Saturday,
October 25, FNAC is co-hosting a Terrorific Night in Walt Disney Studios,
complete with dance floor and DJ.All
of the best (and scariest!) Studios rides will be open. Not to be missed is the brand new Tower of
Terror-an attraction that pulls you into the Twilight Zone as you check into
the Hollywood Tower Hotel but never check out.Tickets to this event are 29 euros a person and the party starts at 8:30
p.m. and winds down at 1 a.m.Buy
tickets here on the FNAC website.
The Halloween Party
And finally, next
week on Halloween Night, Friday, October 31, Disneyland puts on its annual
Halloween bash, complete with special parade, DJ on Main Street USA and special
fireworks.It's an unforgettable party
and it's amazing to see the fancy costumes that people are decked out in.Tickets cost 29 euros a person (well worth
it) and the party goes from 8:30 p.m. until 1 a.m.Just as with the Not-So-Scary Party, the ticket gets you into the
park at 5 p.m.
And what makes this
year an extra special Halloween at Disney?Jack Skellington and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas make
special appearances in the park (near Phantom Manor) and the Halloween
parade.These two aren't normally
spotted in any of the Disney parks around the world . . .
